Warranties & Defective Products
Who covers a failed part, what we need from you to process a claim, and what a warranty does not pay for.
The short version
- ▪Warranties come from the manufacturer, and their terms decide the outcome.
- ▪Have your order number, part number, VIN, mileage and photos ready before filing.
- ▪Labor, towing, rental cars and downtime are not reimbursed.
- ▪Parts with a core charge have extra return requirements — check the product page.
01Manufacturer Warranties
Products sold by US Automotives may be covered by warranties provided by their respective manufacturers.
Warranty availability, duration, coverage, exclusions, procedures and remedies vary by manufacturer and product.
Unless US Automotives expressly provides a separate written US Automotives warranty for a particular product, any applicable manufacturer’s warranty is provided by the manufacturer and is subject to that manufacturer’s warranty terms and conditions.
US Automotives may assist customers with qualifying manufacturer warranty claims when reasonably possible. Final warranty eligibility and available remedies may be determined by the applicable manufacturer or supplier.
Nothing in this policy is intended to limit warranty rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
02Warranty & Defective-Part Claims
A customer submitting a warranty or defective-product claim may be asked to provide information reasonably necessary to evaluate the claim, including:
- ▪US Automotives order number
- ▪Product/part number
- ▪Vehicle year, make and model
- ▪VIN where relevant
- ▪Vehicle mileage
- ▪Installation date
- ▪Photographs or video
- ▪Diagnostic information
- ▪Installation information or documentation
- ▪Description of the reported failure
The product may need to be returned and inspected before the claim can be approved.
Warranty coverage is subject to the applicable manufacturer’s terms.
Not everything is covered. Damage resulting from improper installation, misuse, modification, accidents, incompatible components, improper maintenance, external contamination, racing, off-road use or other excluded circumstances may not qualify for warranty coverage depending on the applicable manufacturer’s terms.
03Labor & Other Expenses
US Automotives does not reimburse costs associated with:
- ▪Installation labor
- ▪Removal labor
- ▪Diagnostic charges
- ▪Towing
- ▪Storage
- ▪Rental vehicles
- ▪Vehicle downtime
- ▪Loss of use
- ▪Lost income
- ▪Other incidental or consequential expenses associated with installation, removal, failure or replacement of a product
A product warranty or approved return does not automatically create a right to reimbursement for these additional expenses.
04Return & Warranty Abuse
US Automotives reserves the right, to the extent permitted by applicable law, to investigate and take reasonable action concerning suspected:
- ▪Fraud
- ▪Return abuse
- ▪Product substitution
- ▪Returning a used product in place of the purchased product
- ▪Counterfeit returns
- ▪Altered products
- ▪False warranty claims
- ▪Repeated policy abuse
- ▪Chargeback abuse
- ▪Other misuse of the return or warranty process
Such action may include denying an ineligible return or claim, limiting future transactions or taking other lawful measures appropriate to the circumstances.
05Core Returns
Products carrying a refundable core charge are subject to additional core-return requirements.
The applicable core charge and any product-specific core requirements should be disclosed on the product page or during purchase.
A returned core may be required to be complete, of the appropriate type/application and in a condition acceptable for rebuilding or remanufacturing.
Return shipping for cores may be the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise stated.
US Automotives may publish additional product-specific core-return requirements where applicable.
06Policy Changes
US Automotives may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in our operations, products, shipping services, manufacturer requirements or applicable law.
The version applicable to a transaction will be determined consistent with applicable law.
Our failure to enforce a provision in one instance does not necessarily waive our right to enforce that provision in another instance.
Filing a warranty claim? Contact US Automotives with your order number, part number and photos of the failure so we can start the review.
